Youth Council of the Municipality of Thermi
The Youth Council of the Municipality of Thermi was established in June 2020 on the initiative of the Municipality and represents a modern institution for youth participation in local community life. It was created to give young people a voice and to offer them an organized space for expression, dialogue, and action.
The Council aims to strengthen the active involvement of young people in public affairs, highlight issues that concern them, and contribute to the development of a local youth strategy in cooperation with the Municipality. Through proposals, initiatives, and participation in decision-making processes, young people play an important role in shaping the present and future of their community.
Members of the Youth Council are young people aged 15 to 19 who live or work within the Municipality of Thermi. They are organized into five local circles (teams) based on their area of residence. Each local circle operates independently, planning and implementing actions that respond to the needs of its local community, while one representative from each circle participates in the General Circle, ensuring coordination and collective decision-making.
The Youth Council of the Municipality of Thermi seeks to empower young people, promote their autonomy, and encourage social and democratic engagement, giving them the tools to actively and responsibly shape their local society.
