National Youth Capital
The Municipality of Thermi has been named National Youth Capital for 2026, a distinction that fills us with great joy and pride. Following a selection process led by the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family, Thermi was awarded the title for its strong commitment to promoting youth participation, creativity, and active engagement.
The official announcement was made on 19 December 2025, with Thermi standing out among important candidate cities such as Kalamata and Lamia.
The National Youth Capital initiative highlights cities that invest in young people by creating opportunities for expression, social action, and meaningful involvement in shaping public policies. As part of this recognition, the Municipality of Thermi will receive funding of up to 80,000 euros to implement actions that will further support and empower youth initiatives and ideas.
As the Youth Council of Thermi, we are especially proud to see our municipality recognized at a national level as a place that values and supports young people. This distinction is a wonderful opportunity to make Thermi even more open, creative, and inclusive for youth, and we look forward to contributing actively to this important journey.
