Participation of the Youth Council of the Municipality of Thermi in the international training seminar of the DYPALL Network in Lisbon

From 8 to 14 December, the Youth Council of the Municipality of Thermi participated in the international training seminar of the DYPALL Network entitled “Local Youth Councils for Democratic Engagement and Media Literacy”, held in Lisbon as part of the Winter Democracy Academy.

The seminar brought together representatives of Local Youth Councils from six European countries, with the Youth Council of the Municipality of Thermi being the sole representative from Greece, highlighting the active role of local youth at the European level.

Throughout the week, we exchanged experiences, explored new methodologies and acquired practical tools to strengthen young people’s participation in Local Youth Councils. Through interactive sessions, experiential exercises and collaborative workshops — including a visit to the Representation of the European Commission in Lisbon — emphasis was placed on creating more inclusive, participatory and resilient Youth Councils, with particular focus on media literacy.

For the Youth Council of the Municipality of Thermi, this participation was an important experience of empowerment and networking, as well as a valuable opportunity for the transfer of knowledge and good practices that will be utilised to enhance the meaningful participation of young people of the Municipality of Thermi in decision-making processes.
