Participation of the Youth Council of the Municipality of Thermi in the international training seminar of the DYPALL Network in Lisbon
December 8, 2025For us, at the Youth Council of the Municipality of Thermi, this distinction is more than a title. It is confirmation that when young people participate meaningfully, co-create and have a voice, they can transform the local community.
On Friday, 19 December, at the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus, the Municipality of Thermi was designated National Youth Capital 2026, with its proposal standing out among 13 nationwide candidacies. The award was received by Deputy Mayor for Education Stelios Apostolou, in the presence of Minister Domna Michailidou, Deputy Minister Elena Rapti and Deputy Minister of Health Dimitris Vartzopoulos.
As a Youth Council operating since 2019 with a participatory and sociocratic model, we will have an active and decisive role in the design and implementation of the actions of 2026, guided by the vision:
“With strong foundations in the local community and youth as the driving force.”
We warmly thank the Municipality of Thermi for the trust and long-standing support, as well as all supporters of the candidacy: academic, research, cultural and social organisations that believed in a model of youth policy based on cooperation, inclusion and social impact.
In 2026, a shared journey begins.
And this time, young people are not just at the centre — they are co-creators
